Who said that only boys can become engineers?

In order to promote a ”male” profession among girls, to encourage young women consider pursuing such professional opportunities within a school-based professional orientation exercise, a “Girl’s Day” will be organized by the GIZ project “Structural Reform in Vocational Education and Training in the Republic of Moldova” at the headquarters of Gas Natural Fenosa (company that provides services for electricity supply).

Target group: around 30 girls from the 9th grade (14-15 years of age), attending the “Mihail Kogălniceanu” Lyceum from Chisinau, the capital city of the Republic of Moldova.

The agenda includes a presentation of the overall activity of the company, as well as an overview of specific professions and career opportunities within the company. A lady top manager will share her experience in advancing on the career path within a multinational company, in a typical male-dominated working environment. The group will visit the company’s facilities and will be made familiar with the core processes of a professional area continuously influenced by technology advancement. During the visit, the company management will introduce the girls into the specifics of getting qualified in some of the professions and the training opportunities offered by the company, including the more recent experience of Gas Natural Fenosa in implementing a dual vocational programme.
