Ghana: Video Screening ATVET for Women

On occasion of the GIZ Gender Week 2020, the GIZ South Africa and GIZ African Union in South Africa offices hosted an interactive session on ‘Gender Equality and Empowerment is my Culture: From Attitude to Action’. As part of this, the Agricultural Technical Vocational Education and Training for Women (ATVET4W) project presented its innovative gender-transformative approach. Since 2018, all ATVET4W team members have engaged in gender coaching to become champions for women’s empowerment. The coaching enabled the technical team to design gender-transformative interventions in six partner countries. In Ghana, the “Women in the Driving Seat” training programme has trained 182 women in tractor operation and maintenance. The aim is to break glass ceilings in Ghana by training women in traditionally male-dominated areas – namely, mechanised agriculture and farm operations. What does this look like? Watch the video to find out!
